Where Is God When I’m Afraid?

By June 21, 2022Uncategorized

“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise His word, In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” ~ Psalm 56:3-4

From the Bible verse above King David confesses to God:
“When I am afraid, I will trust in you.”

Every day it seems we are faced with terrible news… mass shootings, including the killing of innocent children. Robberies, assaults, and hate crimes add to the news. The War in Ukraine and other parts of the World.

It’s ok to be afraid!

Every day we face our own personal challenges… Health, family, and money to name a few.

It’s ok to be afraid

We can find comfort when King David confesses to God, that he is afraid but immediately acknowledges “I will trust in You.” These words give the reassurance that it is okay and normal to be afraid and to have Faith in God. God is with us.

“…In God I will praise his word, In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”

The idea is, that King David would not be afraid of what “any man” – any human being – could do to him if God was his friend.

It’s ok to be afraid! God is with us! God is our friend!
